John L. Gannon,
Psychologist For Busy People
Dr. Gannon is a 17-year resident of San Luis Obispo County and a
licensed clinical psychologist (PSY11733).
He is a graduate of California State University-Long Beach, where
he completed Bachelors degrees in Philosophy and Psychology, and of
Graduate Programs at Florida State University, where he
completed Masters degrees in Philosophy and Psychology and a
Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Gannon is former Chief of the 60-member Medical Staff at the
California Men's Colony, current member and former Chairman of the
San Luis Obispo County Drug and Alcohol Services Advisory Board, and
is in his second term as President of the American Association for
Correctional Psychology, a national organization.
As part of his continuing psychology practice, Dr. Gannon
developed, administers and has presented a 40-session, year-long
program of Personal Growth and Civic Virtue in San Luis Obispo,
Lompoc, Santa Maria and Santa Barbara for the last 8 years. He
is also a long-time practitioner, primarily in the 5-Cities area, of
general psychology, including counseling related to business
matters, anger and stress management, family and
relationships, substance abuse, and marriage dynamics.
Dr. Gannon seeks to provide thorough assessment and efficient
therapeutic strategies in a positive and emotionally safe
environment. He also provides a free, initial telephone
consultation, and sessions are held at your home or work site
to save you time and fit your schedule.
